You do not need to create a separate Lumi account. Download the Tuya Smart Life app and use it to connect Lumi to Wi-Fi. Afterwards, children can use Lumi without opening the app.

During setup, connect your phone to Wi-Fi, have the Wi-Fi password ready and turn on Bluetooth. Lumi requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. Dual-band networks using the same name for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are normally supported, but a 5 GHz-only network is not.

A mobile hotspot can also be used if your phone supports a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi hotspot.
